ADJUSTING FOR TIRE SIZE

How the EASY HOOK Tire Choker™ works: (Click on photos for enlargements.)

STEP #1

  • Tire Choker™ is laid out before placing over tire.

    NOTE: Tire must be inflated.

STEP #2

  • Chain cable and web strap assembly is placed over tire.

STEP #3

  • Tire Choker™ chains are passed through slip-rings.

STEP #4

  • Chain through slip-ring on inside of wheel.
  • NOTE: Position of web strap holding chain away from suspension to allow Tire Choker™ cross links to be pulled under tire.

STEP #5

  • Sister hooks and winch line are attached to Tire Choker™ chains ready for winch tension to load the tire/wheel.
  • NOTE: The Tire Choker™ will load onto wheel and tire with tow truck winch line at a 90 degree angle - ie: "side pull"

NOTE:
Before engaging winch tension, position web straps at front and rear of tire at the indicated positions (arrows) approximately at 9 o'clock and 2 o'clock to ensure that web straps do not rotate to ground contact when tire is loaded.
  • The Tire Choker™ will load tire/wheel of vehicle even at winch/cable side pull of 90' degrees to the vehicle.
  • If a long steep recovery is necessary, two Easy Hook Tire Chokers™ (on opposite wheels) are recommended.
  • Tire must be fully inflated.
  • Re-hook and shorten winch line web strap to choker chains if there is a possibility of body/fender contact.
